We're proud of what we do

UWKM stands for ‘Improving your website’. It once began as a venturous boy's tale. Now, many years later, it has transformed to the professional IT company UWKM. With a specialised, growing team of approximately 20 employees, we develop high-profile projects for our customers.

WHAT WE DO
A first impression says it all. This is equally true for a website. An attractive, well reachable website with a clear structure and a natural interaction makes all the difference in the world. At UWKM, we make websites with a perfect balance between text and visuals, content and white space. Together with an intuïtive navigation, this ensures that visitors find information quickly and easily. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and SEA (Search Engine Advertising) allow your website to be found by search engines.

WHAT WE WON'T DO
We won't overload you with all sorts of complicated modules which you will rarely, if at all, use in practice. This keeps your website manageable and lets you easily control your website yourself.

GDPR
Starting on the 25th of May 2018 the GDPR, the General Data Protection Regulation, will be enforced. Its goal is the improved protection of the privacy of consumers. This is done through, amongst other things, lawfulness, fairness and transparency, purpose limitation, data minimisation, accuracy, storage limitations, integrity and confidentiality. UWKM will assist you in meeting all policy regulations.

Every organisation, big or small, deals with data. This data can and must be utilised, but painstakingly and manually digging through spreadsheets is really a thing of the past.
The cost effective nature and the lessened chance of errors have made automatically crawling through data a widespread phenomenon.

ERP SYSTEMS
Nowadays, all kinds of companies use ERP systems. With, for example, a webshop, such systems keep track of current and ordered stock, paid and unpaid orders and product specifications. Certain details are then displayed on the website, providing your customers with access to real-time information.

THE CONNECTION
We have a lot of experience of connecting different data systems to our websites. This does not mean that the same method can be applied everywhere. We will assist you in deciding on the best way to connect the systems you use to your website. Together, we can decide which data you do and do not wish to display to your customers and which method is best suited to process data. This way, you are ensured of a made-to-order solution, that does exactly what you need it to do.

In a world that continues to digitise, online and offline shopping keep getting intertwined more every day. Consumers have all available information at their fingertips and at least 73% occasionally shops online. As an entrepreneur, it is key that you have a webshop that fits your target audience, whether that is BtB or BtC.

WHAT WE DO
From self-explanatory navigation and filtering systems to the best spot for information on payment options, there are many factors that are important in making a webshop successful. By showing relevant offers and promotions, the consumer's attention is caught and held. And by removing as many barriers as possible, for example by using a one-step-checkout, payment has become easier than ever. Whether you're using a pc, laptop or mobile device with touchscreen.

COLLABORATION
For optimal customer services, webshops often collaborate with other systems such as ERPs and CRMs, are connected to payment services like MultiSafePay or have to work with logistical partners such as PostNL. We will take care of that for you.

THE RISE OF E-LEARNING
An increasingly growing portion of the educational budget of medium-sized or large companies is reserved for e-learning. Due to flexible working becoming increasingly common, learning from the comfort of one's own home is more appealing than, say, attending a congress or a lecture. Research from 97 public and private organisations shows that in 2017 47% of these companies have used e-learning as means to update their employees' knowledge.

AN EXTENSIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
However, e-learning has more perks than just flexible learning. In contrast with classical ways of learning, every participant can spend as much or as little time on each subject as is necessary. It is possible to train more employees at once as well, due to the fact that they do not have to physically be in the same room. E-learning also opens doors to a more extensive learning environment, for example by using videos and simulations or automating progress tests.

There are ample reasons to use e-learning within your company. At UWKM we have a great deal of experience with building e-learning applications for different customers and we are happy to help you create an e-learning programme that is catered to your goals.

One of UWKM's specialties is building configurators. These are applications that guide website visitors through a selection process. Well known examples are those for assembling a new car, or choosing which cabinets to place in a new kitchen.

CONNECTING OTHER SYSTEMS
Among others, UWKM built a complex configurator for Frapak, targeted at the BtB market. In this configurator, one can assemble end products with many different plastic bottles for diverse applications and with different closures and usages (nebulisation, spraying, etc.). It is connected to stock levels, delivery times, price lists and has a customised middleware and connection to an ERP- and production system.

COLLABORATION
Where it comes to configurators, we collaborate internationally with Plan Software GmbH in Saarbrücken, Germany (www.plansoft.de). The company is one of the first spin-offs of DFKI, the German Research centre for artificial intelligence. It specialises in software for product configurators, generating price quotes and intelligent product catalogs. A-list customers originate from Germany, Austria, France, Denmark and The Netherlands: Bosch, Danfoss, Deutsche Bahn, Vahle, Siemens, UIC, Voith, WabcoWurth, Yamaichi Electronics, etc.
Websites that are built from templates are popular. And with reason; they are financially advantageous. However, often there isn't a lot of wiggle room on the appearance. At most you can choose from a handful of colour schemes. And due to all sorts of unnecessary functionalities that are built in with such templates, the website has long loading times. Custom made websites have none of these disadvantages. Made to order means complete freedom on design and functionalities combined with an optimal loading time, even with large amounts of site traffic. Another benefit of having your website custom made is that it has the possibility to grow in conjecture with your company as it expands. If the need arises at a later date for having it connect to, in example, a datasystem, this can be arranged.

CUSTOM BUILDS AT UWKM
If you want a custom made website, we will start off with a conversation. This allows us to get a feel for your company and we can help you find the best online solutions. Afterwards we will get started with the design. You will receive a preview-url where you will find the approved design as a live demo. You will be able to click on several parts of the website and preview the design on mobile devices.

We will set up the CMS (content management system) in such a way that all components of your website are within easy reach, without you being burdened with pointless extras. In order to guarantee that we continue to be of one mind, we will keep in contact with you during the entire process. It is quicker to make adjustments along the way, instead of realising that expectations did not match reality towards the end of the project.
